Anti Dictionary or Brute Force Attack mechanism.
Due to the nature of the implemented 512 Bit PMC Encryption, Dictionary or Brute Force Attacks against encrypted volumes are made much harder than similar products that use passwords for authentication. As the Encryption Algorithm is compiled at runtime from your password, trying every possible combination always involves compiling the complete cipher object. Secure file deletion

Secure wipe of unused disk space
Windows generally does not delete files by overwriting data. In many cases, deleted data can be restored. TurboCrypt has the required functionality implemented that guarantees deletion of all data fragments that can be found in unused areas of disk drives.

It can be set to provide reliable continuous operation to offer maximum protection.

Unprotected data never resides on the encrypted portion of your disk to prevent mixing of critical and non-essential information. It does secure file deletion and secure wiping of unused disk space to prevent the recovery of previously deleted files. You can keep your EToken (access method) password on a SD card or memory stick using your own personal key.

File encryption including self extracting files allow you to send encrypted messages through email as attachments, even to those that do not have encryption software.

Method:
Encryption can work like a firewall or virus scanner running in the background. Once the program is started, you enter your password once to unlock the encrypted drive. You can then access all encrypted files stored on that drive. When unlocked, the encrypted volume simply shows up in the Windows Explorer as a separate drive letter.

Unlocking a volume does not leave your data out in the open. Only the section of a file being used is unencrypted and passed on-the-fly to the operating system. All of this is done in the background, transparent to the user. Once the program is started and an encrypted volume is unlocked, the user cannot tell that the files they are accessing are encrypted.

For personal use, you can keep your music and movie archives on an Virtual Drive. You can play files directly from the encrypted drive or save them to CDs or MP3 players in the same manner as any other files stored on your computer.

There are two encryption types offered by Turbocrypt. The first is their TP2 Cipher version. It uses a 512-bit ultra-secure Polymorphic Cipher which is extremely fast & safe. The second version is AES. It is industry standard for those that needs to comply with requirements set by their organization or company. It uses 2x256 bit AES Encryption and is FIPS-197 compliant for government applications.

Full drive encryption is not necessary, both products are flexible enough to encrypt at the file/ folder level and individual emails. In addition, files and disks can be security wiped clean from your drives using powerful data destruction methods to eliminate the chance they can be recovered.

Please note that there are different sizes of TurboCrypt. For personal or business use, there is no point (unless specified) in encrypting your standard application programs files (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.). The program files usually reside on your C: drive in a large directory. To view their size- Click on "Start" then "My Computer"> "C:" > "Program files"> then right click on "Properties". Your data, graphics, email and audio files can be maintained in a separate drive using partitions. You need to specify in the application where to store these files to, for example drive E: or to a CD ROM- USB flash drive, etc. (Yes, even Outlook Express & Outlook).
We suggest deciding in advance how you are going to organize your files and which ones you would like to encrypt- using the TurboCrypt documentation. For personal use- 20 gigabytes of information is quite large though a large collection of MP3 or graphics files will require more capacity. For business use- consider the larger sizes especially for a large amount of historical email or for a "encrypt- everything" policy.
