A major benefit is having any security software supplier on your side that

Free and shareware software providers try to get you to use their light weight
versions on the hopes of up-selling you at some point. They flog ads on their
sites and/or place other software of various quality on your system for a fee-

We reviewed our own antivirus protection at the end of 2007. We checked to
see how many instances had occurred and how many new virus definitions we received
